This is an exciting time for Childrens Ministries at First Presbyterian Church! The Childrens Team has developed a brand new Four-Year vision to move our ministries to children into the future.

The Ministry has a new name: Pathways of Faith. This name suggests that there are many paths that will be taken on a faith journey and that each will serve a unique purpose for our growth in faith. All ages of children have something new and exciting this Fall!

Ministry colors are a way to help parents quickly identify if a poster/notice concerns their age child. It will also be useful for grandparents to check to see if there is an activity for their grandchildren in which to participate while visiting.

Classes Begin

First Steps is the name of our Nursery Ministry Path where our youngest members and guests experience the love of God in the loving arms and voices of our caregivers. SPLASH! resources are used to connect monthly with parents about the faith growth of their child from birth-36 months.

The nursery ministry is provided all morning for children birth-age 4 on the second floor. All ages are welcome to attend worship with their parents; however, quality care is offered for those young children who find sitting through the entire worship service a challenge.

	Their ministry color will be RED/PINK.

Joyful Journeys is the path where our Early Childhood children (ages 3-Pre K) will explore great stories of our faith through the new Walk With Me program. This material is current and presents the stories of our faith in light of a Reformed theology.

	Their ministry color will be ORANGE/PEACH.

The Garden Gate is the path for our Kindergarten children. Here they will learn about worship and how to worship in the reformed tradition through a wonderful program called Gateways to Worship. This program will help them become active participants in corporate worship rather than passive listeners. Kindergarten children join the opening time in room 312 before being dismissed to their classroom, 302.

The Promised Land is where you will find our children in grades 1-4 engaged in the Walk With Me curriculum, learning the stories of our faith and how to apply them to their daily lives. The material is biblically sound, consistently Reformed/Presbyterian in its approach to Scripture, and goes beyond head knowledge by challenging children to respond with their hearts and lives to actually LIVE the faith. All children meet in room 312 for opening before being dismissed to their classroom.

	Their ministry color will be GREEN.

CrossRoads Caf will be THE place for our 5th and 6th graders and their friends to begin putting together everything they have learned in a Bible survey class titled I Know My Bible. The second year, our "Tweens" will be introduced to church history in So Great a Cloud of Witnesses and will write their first Statement of Faith to help prepare them for the confirmation experience. All children meet in room 312 for opening before being dismissed to their classroom. The caf is located in room 309.
